When it rains…

I came down to Jakarta last Friday amid some miscommunications. Anyhow, I looked in the newspaper yesterday to find out that the domestic terminal of the Medan airport in North Sumatra burned up. I have to transit in this airport for any domestic flight out of Banda Aceh! Medan is the third largest city in the country (behind Jakarta and Surabaya) and needed an upgrade for facilities as I saw it. This is a good opportunity for an upgrade, but it remains to be seen how they will accomodate the 120+ flights to and from the domestic terminal each day. I have three colleagues arriving today from Banda Aceh and will know how it goes very soon.

Wednesday is my presentation at the TEFL conference here. It should be a hoot.
