After much ado in Bali, I have made it back to Banda Aceh. The coffee shops are open, people are filtering back to town, ready to start back up following the break. Bali was a good time. I met up with my colleagues, saw some places that I hadn’t seen before, and went off to Gili Trawangan–an island of the northwest coast of Lombok. It only took 14 hours to get there from Kuta, Bali. I cut my travel so tight that I had no time to go searching for DVDs or presents for my co-workers. It’s a rough life.
Highlights that will need to be fleshed out later: symbolic cremation hosted by a colleague’s colleague, Tanah Lot, the beach.
