Yes, I know the Detroit Tigers failed to take the World Series crown. I did get to watch all of Game Two while shaking off a night out. At least they ground out a win at that time. Hopefully, my faithful friend, Al, will have recorded the whole Series so that I can take a break one weekend and watch all five games in succession. That may just be my Christmas Day.
I arrived back from Bali today and took a nap. There were plenty of emails in the boxes. Not as many as I assume many of my friends receive after a week’s absence but enough for me to wince.
Bali was a good break for me. The first two nights were spent, after a slight flight delay, in Kuta, the backpacker area that reeks of decadence. Fortunately, I left there quite soon up to the laid back city of Ubud. I’ve already spoke much of this place, and I’ll surely go back. Highlights of this trip: a superb interpretation of the Ramayana with kecak accompaniment–the best I’ve seen, my first viewing of wayang kulit, the silhouette puppet theater that Indonesia is well known for, the Agung Rai Museum of Art, and the Neka Museum of art. I also had my fill of the tasty brewing products from Storm Brewing. There’s nothing like a taste of hops after all the pilsner. If the trip wasn’t about relaxation, it had to be about eating and drinking. The dinners and lunches each exceeded my daily cost of lodging.
I did also manage a few pictures, but they have not been added to the gallery yet. I’ll write more as I think of it.

I also became quite fond of the Storm beers while in Bali for a couple of weeks, just before leaving Tomohon.
Now I’m in England, and I drink a different beer every night! if I want to. Wine, even.
You are evil, Anthony. Pure evil.
