I know I have several sites that I check out morning and night, but what sites do you need to click every day? Just wondering.
Another week of teaching down. I started off the day by re-telling the students that I recognize only two states of being in attendance — present or absent. This was covered in my syllabus but a student arrived today with papers asking me to excuse them from class. I further admitted that they were adults and could do whatever they wanted to do. Heck, students in the US just wouldn’t show up, or even ask. This confounded the two students, and I waved them away. It’s impossible to make up a unique classroom experience even if other students lend notes.
On another note, I have assigned ‘dialog journals’ for my students. It has really turned out to be ‘pronunciation logs’ or the like. I assign them to record their voices on audiotape. This was truly a unique experience for most of them. What I didn’t take into account was that many of the students were even unaware how to operate a portable tape recorder. I watched as a few searched the players for an opening before finally showing them how it worked. If don’t end up learning much in my class, at least they learned that.

I’ve made it a habit to check out “the show with zefrank.” It’s a daily video blog which is quite entertaining.

Other than that, I have basically stopped looking at web sites!
Need to check what my training-mates are up to daily:

Also constantly searching at http://www.greenjobs.de
News, if I don’t get around to read a newspaper - for a quick glimpse: http://www.netzeitung.de
… and digging deeper: http://www.zeit.de
Runt,
You can tell your students that I have some with 10 absences all ready and don’t think anything of it.
Two more weeks of football and I’ll be out of my misery.
See ya,
Bill
Bill, I don’t think I want to encourage them. What’s after football? Did they finally coerce you into coaching wrestling?
