The little things are definitely taking their toll this week. Errands are the largest timesuck this week. I have been going to the university for the past few days and ‘doing work’ there. No matter that my physical presence at the university was not a pre-requisite for completing the work. I went to maintain my communications (if I don’t ask, I don’t get information), set up classes for the new term, and get a driver for my errands. I did get to talk to a few students who I struck up student-teacher relationships with and learned about their summer vacations. I also quaffed ten or so glasses of coffee in the few hours I was there. On the ‘big project’ front, I think the long, drawn-out process of procurement of resources has started. There is no telling when things will start arriving here. Hopefully, there might be some acquisition during Ramadan and we’ll get to have a minor opening of the learning center.
Current trivial trials consist of the main breaker for my abode flipping every few hours in the night. I usually don’t notice the effect until I wake up in a pool of sweat. I get up and flip the breaker, go back to bed. This continues between the hours of midnight and 4am and occurs at least three times. Around 4a, I give up and take out a book; around 5a, I brew up some coffee and pound the keyboard. The day must begin with caffeine.
