I can’t remember the last time I put something up here, so I suppose it might be time for another post.
Last weekend, in addition to going to the National Cherry Festival in Traverse City for carnival eats, I went to a baseball game of Traverse City’s newest (and only?) professional sports team, the Beach Bums. This is the first season for the Beach Bums, and the stadium is brand new. The outfiled is ‘lawn’ seating at six bucks a pop. The first- and third-base lines have seats. I had a good time watching some baseball. Next week, I’ll go to a Tigers’ game at Comerica Park and, possibly, check out a Mudhens game in Toledo the following week. It is fitting that I’m doing this as baseball is the only piece of America that I miss deep down.
Three more days until I compete in a sprint triathlon. I’m not really competing with anyone; I’m in it to finish, nothing more, nothing less. It’s my first time at giving this a shot. I’m confident that I can finish; I just don’t want to make a darned fool of myself. It is possible I could do that. I’ll post my times and splits to make you jealous. Two of my brothers, Jim and Bill, have threatened to come and cheer me on. It’s a scary proposition as brothers are apt to use embarrassment to ’show their love.’ I hope they don’t love me too much.

Good luck in the triathalon! Go get em tiger!
Thanks, Yvette. I’m looking forward to beating my body into a heaving mass of bone and muscle. All roads lead to the finish line.
