Not even close

Mt. Merapi on the island of Java is erupting. Lest you forget, or are concerned, I live on the island of Sulawesi. You can read a short article of what’s happening here.

    That’s a spectacular photo they have with that story. Beware of that link, though, as the NY Times will shift it over to their pay-to-read section in a week or so.

    Duly noted, Scott. Mt. Merapi is still puffing and there are still people staying close enough to the volcano to get burned. They want to tend their livestock. Over 40 people died from burns last time the darn thing erupted.
