Speeding up

A few minutes to reflect now. I’ve been tourist guide to my friends from back home. I have left them in Bali so that I could do my work. Work has been sped up as of late. I’m supposed to have a text list of a couple thousand dollars worth of books, things to stick in the teacher learning center, from trash can liners to saucers to suggestion box, and estimates from contractors for the alteration of the existing space. Today, I worked on the rest while waiting for the contractor so that I could tell him exactly what we wanted. The contractor never came. We’ll be getting a total of three estimates for it all. I’ll let you know what they turn out to be.

Tomorrow, my guests will arrive on the late flight from Bali and I’ll put them to bed while I burn some midnight oil. We’ll take an eight-hour bus ride into the hills to get a glimpse of the old life. I’ll sleep then.

If this work crap gets done, I’m going tomorrow. Oh! What little control I have over someone coming to give an estimate. Reminds me a little of waiting for the cable guy to show up.
