Transferred

The amazing has occurred; I’ve been transferred to Makassar, South Sulawesi. Many of you might ask why this has occurred, and I have an answer. Sort of. A large grant has been secured to establish a state-of-the-art resource center at the Aluaddin State Islamic University in Makssar. A Fellow was needed to execute/oversee the grant, and I was chosen. I’ll be moving along shortly and be working to establish this center, stock it, publicize it, and work to get people to use it. That’s the skinny on it. Of course, many things were considered before having me uprooted but, ultimately, it was looking at the grand picture and not at the microcosm. I will be leaving Manado and a great many friends; I have already felt a great sadness but realized that this move, like any other business transaction, must occur. The chance to head up this project is one that I cannot reject on personal reasons alone, however great they may be.

Please hold any normal mail at this time. Happy Chinese New Year to you all.

    hi Tonny,
It is a great time for me and for my family having you here with us. The momment I heard your transfer, I have many rainbows inside my eyes and my heart. That’s how it is.That’s the reality we knew we will face, but, I didnt think it would be this time. Anyway, you would have chance to fly back here from time to time, say every forthnight or so. Distance could never change our togetherness I suppose? On the other hand we would be greatful to visit you in Makassar, your new home.
Have a beautiful and memorable times there. You will stay in our mind and wish you all the best.
