an entry somewhere else

For a month or so now I thought I would be shuffling off this paradise of Manado for a house on the east coast of Borneo but now I don’t know. My current workplace has yet to get a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ from the central office in Jakarta even though I know that it was a ‘no.’ I questioned the office about notification–I hate keeping these secrets–and was informed they are still tallying dollars and, if they get enough for another Fellow, someone will be in Manado. I’m in some sort of limbo again. Of course, I could still leave if I wanted to but staying would provide a good continuity for the program and this place. Besides, my bullshit detector is getting pretty good with the people around the office.
