OK, the open heart surgery, while a valiant effort on my part, was unsuccessful. I don’t think Apple really wants me to be able to swap out my optical drive all by myself. On the other hand, I was amazed at what I could do with a Leatherman tool. I’ve decided to wait it out and get it fixed when I get back to the US or go to Jakarta. Hopefully, none of these will happen until June.

Sorry to hear that the documentation I managed to get off the net didn’t help. You know, I guess I couldn’t dropped the US$10 for an actual manual. Anyhow, I’m sure the Mac doctors in the US will make it sing like Frank again. Let’s hope so. Stay in touch!
It’s all good, Scott. I think the Mac store is going to make a good bit of change off me when I get back. I really want to see what the hell is stuck in the optical drive though.
